What is a T-Junction Sign?

The T-junction sign is a red-bordered triangle with a bold black ‘T’ symbol. It warns drivers that the road will end ahead, and they must turn left or right. These signs are placed 50-100 meters before the intersection to give drivers time to slow down.

Rules for T-Junctions

  • Reduce speed and prepare to stop.
  • Yield to traffic on the main road.
  • Turn only when safe (left/right).

Where Are T-Junction Signs Used?

  • On roads where the main road comes to an end at an intersection
  • Approaching intersections in rural or suburban areas where a T-junction is present
  • In areas where the road network requires drivers to make a directional choice at the junction
